Direct mail is sending personally addressed letters to potential clients introducing your book-keeping business and the services you offer. The aim of the letter is to get the potential client to contact you for a free bookkeeping appraisal and quote.
Targetting start-up businesses is an effective way of marketing your book-keeping service to business owners who may not yet have a book-keeper. Read our blog post about targetting start-ups.
There are many ways of finding the contact details of potential clients in your area. These include:
-The phone book e.g. Yellow Pages or Thomson Local
-Online search engine e.g. Google and Bing
-Companies House
-Business List Provider e.g. Selectabase
The response rate from this sort of marketing differs in success, but you may pick up 1 or 2 potential clients. This may not sound like much, but it only takes 1 or 2 conversions to make it worthwhile.
