Strike up relationships with local Accountants

Forming a business relationship with a local firm of accountants can produce a rich source of clients. For obvious reasons the accountant probably won’t refer year end accounts jobs and tax returns to you, but book-keeping, VAT and payroll tasks may well come your way.

You may want to send an introductory letter to the accountant, advising them of your service, and then follow up with a complimentary phone call or email.

You may even want to offer to take them out to lunch. This will show you as sincere and genuine, and will present an excellent image. Even if the accountant doesn’t accept they will surely remember you favourably!

Accountants are especially busy during the month of January (tax return season), so it’s best to avoid contacting them then.
